That won't work because
100,200,300,500,600,700,900,1000,1100,1300,1400,1500,1700,1800, and 1900
weren't leap years. (Assuming an adjusted calendar that converts all
dates to the gregorian calendar; without that assumption, there's no way
to compute the passage of dates because of the calendar changes over the
years.)
