Automating droplets

I'm a newbie to applescript as I primarly work/develop on a PC. I have
a couple droplet type applications which we use to create binaries by
dropping source files on an icon. Is there a way to automate this task,
I've done searches, and even tried the recorder function of script
editor, both with no luck. Thanks for any help you can provide!
