Folder actions out of memory

Hi all,

I wrote this folder action script that under certain conditions, runs out of
memory. Eventually, the machine freezes up and requires a restart.

The machine is one of the new G4 towers, with 733 mhz, 640 megs RAM, OS
9.2.1. It runs WebStar 4.? (whatever is current for OS 9).

The script isn't too elaborate. When someone drags files into the folder,
the script creates an email message with information about what was dragged
in. Email is handled by Outlook Express. It takes approximately 10 seconds
to execute.

Multiple files dragged into the folder generate multiple email messages. The
script loops thru all the files and knocks out messages.

Scenario 1) drag one file to the folder
Result ) works fine

Scenario 2) drag multiple files to the folder
Result ) works fine. Dragging 20 files or more, no problem.

Scenario 3) drag a file to the folder, wait 2 seconds, drag another, wait 2
seconds, drag another, wait 2 seconds, drag another
Result ) alert appears, saying Folder Actions has run out of memory. Soon
thereafter, the machine freezes.

My temporary solution was to use Resorcerer to bump the memory allocation up
to a meg, by changing the SIZE resource. I shouldn't have to do this, AND
I'm thinking this is a band aid.

Can anyone provide some insight?

Thanks
