Here's a useful hack of the Script Editor:
1) Make a copy of the Editor (I usually "Stuff" the original thereafter
to prevent the OS from refrring to it accidentally in the future).
2) Open the copy of Script Editor in ResEdit.
3) Open the "Menu" resource (double-click)
4) Open resource #129 in the resulting window.
5) Click once on the "Open Dictionary..." line item.
6) Go the the box to the right of "CMD-KEY:" and enter the numeral "1"
(without the quotes).
7) Close saving changes.
This allows you to access the dictionary call-up window with the CMD-1 key
sequence instead of running the mouse up to the file menu each time you want
that open dictionary window.
CAVEAT: (there's always one, isn't there?) I do not use any third party
apps like Quickeys, so I don't know if this hack would inhibit such a
utility's function(s). I do have CMD-1 enabled in PhotoShop, for example,
but this hack does not affect CMD-1 usage(s) in background apps.
For what its worth...
