What about facespan

Is it good or bad, is good for ??, bad for ??

It's ok, three or four years ago it was quite something, but as other posters have said it has given the impression of essentially having been abandoned. While it can do many things, it is rather quirky, to put it mildly, and many of the GUI tools are rather harder to use than they should be. Developing appearance manager compatible interfaces was a particular pain, in my experience.
