I was just wondering if anyone knows how to rename a folder to the current date of the machine.

tell application "Finder" to set name of file "Path_To_File:REP00006 copy.jpg" to (current date) as string

Works. At least under OS X. For classic you'll need to limit the file name to 32 characters or less.
