It doesn't just imply it - it means it directly. Thanks to the insight of
Bill Fancher, I have now got it written.

Nope, you just query the Airport card and get it to find out the network's
(more precisely, the base station) connectedness status.

No idea. I didn't even know there was such an app. I tend to handle stuff
involving NSS with tongs.

I'll send the script when I get to my other machine, as that's where it
resides.
