A good product to use is Apple Net. Admin (part of AppleShare IP) which
allows you to do exactly what you want. Across the net work subnets or
where ever.

I've finally begun to deploy some applets to end-users machines in my
company. Now when I update the scripts I'm left wondering how best to
update the end-users. I've thought about using a thirdy party installer
but was wondering if there wasn't something that could be done via AS.
The goal would be a self-updating solution which would:
1) check a server for a newer version
2) read in changes
3) dynamically update code within the applet
I guess the alternative would be to just download an entire file and
replace the old, but we are on slow Internet connections in four
different locations and the thought of 70 computers jumping on the file
server isn't the ideal way to go I'm thinking. I use many apps that have
a self-update feature, and I'm wondering how real world developers
tackle this issue?
