Is this a bug with the Script Editor? Or is it a bug in the Deskjet driver?

My work around is to copy the text to SimpleText (formatting is retained)

There must be something weird about the way Script Editor handles
printing. I use an Epson 980 printer and if I have background printing
turned on and try to print from Script Editor it hangs up my whole
machine. I have to hit the reset button to free it. If I turn off
background printing it works just fine. With my old Epson 740 printer I
didn't have this problem, nor do I have it with the 980 except when
printing from Script Editor.
