Emptying Trash with locked items

Okay, 2 days of searching through AppleScript sites, weary eyed and lacking
coffee....

I have a very simple script I am trying to make and I just can't figure
something out here...I am a newbie at scripting, so please pardon if this is
very basic.

OS is 8.6 and 9.x

I am using the ZeroG installer program and want to replace a folder in my
applemenu items, the folder contains aliases to me servers. I used stuffit
to stuff it up and the installer extracts the info, however since the folder
exists, stuffit does not replace it but rather puts a .1 in the name 8-)..

So I figures that I can just write a little applescript that will check to
see if the folder IS there and if so, remove it to trash and empty the
trash....2 things I just can not get to work...

number 1 is checking to see if it is there...
number 2 is emptying the trash with locked items since the aliases are
locked.

I got the moving it to the trash part working fine and the empty the trash
piece (but not locked items)

any suggestions or definitive sites with possible info?

I am already looking for some books and stuff...I really haven't played with
scripting since my AREXX days and the Amiga 8-)

Thanks for your help

-Mike
