Purely as a guess, I would speculate that your result window is present but
off screen.
If I'm right, if you type Command-W while you "should" have the result
window showing, the next window back will become active.
The position of the result window appears to be kept in
/Users/you/Library/Preferences/com.apple.scripteditor.plist
which if you are brave you can open in the property list editor if you have
the Developer Tools installed, or in a handy text editor.
HOWEVER, when I do that (using BBEdit), I see this property:
<key>ResultBounds</key>
<string>12 -12688 1 0</string>
which doesn't at all match the location and size of my Script Editor's
result window...so this may have nothing to do with the location of the
result window.
