I have Goodman's book as well as AS in a
Nutshell, and I agree with you in that they
complement each other very well. If I need to
learn a concept, I generally start off with
Goodman and if I need deeper understanding I use
AS in a Nutshell as a referance. I also have the
AS Internet book.
I can also highly recommend Ben Waldie's AS
training cd from VTC. It helped me alot in my
early AS days.

I would also like to know about any general
programming books, especially about OO concepts.
I'm largely self taught and I suspect there are
some gaping holes in my scripting knowledge. Any
recommendations about good books on programming
and OO concepts would be greatly appreciated.
How about good books on Pearl and/or Javascript
as we go into OSX.? Any good Unix programming
books to recommend?
