A couple of problems

  • Subject: A couple of problems

Greetings,

We are migrating our aged web server (a Beige G3 running OS 8.1 and WebStar) to Apache on Linux.

User access for the purpose of uploading files to the server has been via Personal File Sharing and/or NetPresenz (FTP server).

We have two problems which I think AppleScript might solve for us:

1) We need all of the aliases in our WWW hierarchy resolved and exported to a text file.

2) We need the sharing permissions for all folders in the WWW hierarchy also exported.

I've done some light scripting over the years and might, given enough time, come up with solutions for these problems. While they are beyond my immediate scope, I sense that they are probably simple, short solutions that someone on this list either already has in their repertoire or can code in their sleep! If so, care to share?

Looking for a handout,
...ROMeyn
