Hello Everybody!
This is my first post, but I am subscribing to this list for about 8
months. I have developed a large script in Script Debugger that exceeds
Script Editor 32k limit. The main script loads 3 other scripts (2 text
parsers and one for QuarkXPress page creation). OSAXes used are DDirector
and Akua to improved the reliability of reading and writing files. Also used
Progress Bar scriptable application.
The script builds up QuarkXPress basic pages for a newspaper out of 2 text
files dumped from a VAX mainframe. It manages 9 different types of
publication with various options. It builds a database of all ads,
coordinates and advertiser's info. It then creates all pages, puts the
proper folio, picture boxes filled with a dummy EPS file from a fake drive.
The information is kept for a second run for last minute changes. This was
my first Applescript undertaking and I learned the language with it.
The script runs fine on my development Mac and on 2 other ones, but I can
get it to run on a 3rd one. All are G3 desktop 233MHz running MacOS 9.1 and
updated to AppleScript 1.6. The target Macs have 256 MB ram, mine 192MB.
The error message is stack overflow "dipassement de la pile".
The Applet is supposed to open with a DDirector dialog with numerous pull
down menus and text fields to grab the user's initial data. 10MB of memory
was allocated to the applet.
Any idea on how to resolve this problem would be greatly appreciate.
