Put Away command?

I need to put away a partition. The script needs to work in 9 and X.
Looking at the dictionary in 9, I see the put away command.

tell application "Finder"
activate
put away disk "my drive"
end tell

Result: disk "my drive" of application "Finder"
-- the object put away in its put-away location

Is the put away command not suppose to be for unmounting disks/partitions.
How do I go about doing this.

Akua Sweets:
expel volume named "my drive" with unmounting it

Partition disappears and then reappears on the desktop. Besides, I don't
think Akua works in X does it?

Help?
