More Acrobat 5 headaches

Anyone else have complaints about the scripting support in Acrobat 5? I've been trying to delete a range of pages using the syntax in the dictionary, but Acrobat seems to be completely stupid about it and only deletes one page, not the range. The only way that it wants to work to delete a range is to put it in a repeat loop and go one page at a time. Yech.

In the syntax you specify both first and last pages in what one would assume is the range, but the page specified for "last" just gets ignored. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has seen this, and if they've found a better/different workaround.
