What exactly is wrong with 3rd-party osaxen? They're free, for goodness
sake. Use them, and get your users to use them. It's no big deal. Tens of
thousands of users use my Outlook Express and Entourage scripts, most of
which require Akua Sweets or Jon's Commands. (I know about the number
because AppleScripts Central keeps track of downloads. Of course not
everyone who downloads a script uses it, but it's a rough guess.) Not one
single person has ever complained that getting and installing an osax is too
much trouble. I tell them in my ReadMes to hold down the Command key and
click on the URL to <
http://www.osaxen.com> and that gets them there and
they're up in no time.
In OS X, I now find myself shoved into the 'vanilla AppleScript' camp
involuntarily. OK, it's an interesting challenge, but I plan to go right
back to my favorite osaxen as soon as they make it to OS X.
