tell app "Finder"
get every file of entire contents of folder a of disk b
end

use akua "the entries in <filespec>
it lets you get the entries in multiple chunks, filter on type, creator,
label, date modifed/created etc. Does name matching and specifies a max
depth.

You can mask busy files, resolve aliases. In general it what you want in
good software.
