It has been encouraging to hear from people around the world. Words of
support at this time is comforting. One way we in Utah are dealing with
this is to do what we can in the way of relief efforts (fund raising, etc.)
The concerted effort of one woman got local banks to open relief accounts
as of 1:00 pm Tuesday to make it easy for people to donate; the funds
being available almost immediately for the relief effort in New York. We
have now been told that Wells Fargo (with branches in 23 states) has now
also opened up a disaster relief account. For anyone wanting to donate, ask
your local bank if they have opened up an account for the NYC-Washington DC
Disaster Relief effort. And if you are donating, make sure that you mention
that it is for NYC-Washington DC Disaster Relief.
At a time when it seemed that we were coming together as a world, with
common goals and common purposes, it is saddening to see there are those
that would go to such extreme efforts to bring harm to others. May we go
forth from today with heightened resolve to do what we can individually to
bring peace, understanding and love to this small planet that we share.
