I would like a subrountine that creates a list of all available files in all
avaialable folders no matter how deep they go into the hierachi from a
choosen disk or volume

Applescript surely ought to be able to do that. But If you're interested I have an MPW script that I would be happy to share. The output is tab separated text designed to be read into en Excel workbook. MPW is free from Apple but is just the opposite of "natural English" programming.
