setting paper size to 'custom' in quark

I have a script the prints a quark file to a spooler which requires the
paper size to be set to 'custom', BUT I can set it to everything other than
'custom'! As a stop gap I have been using prefab but it doubles the time
the script takes. Does anyone have another solution?
