What is ASLG and where can I get it? Nothing I already have meets your

ASLG is short for "AppleScript Language Guide." It's available in
various forms -- html, pdf, or printed -- from
<
http://developer.apple.com/techpubs/macosx/Carbon/interapplicationcomm/AppleScript/
applescript.html>. (You'll have to cough up some dough for the printed
version, of course, but it's a well-produced book.)
The ASLG covers everything in the intrinsic AppleScript language, which
means it does *not* cover applications, Finder scripting, or scripting
additions, much to the frustration of naive users who expect it to be
the one and only document they'll ever need. It's also designed more as
a reference manual than a tutorial, so it's not the best choice for
learning the language unless you're fairly geeky.
