another way to script apps on Windows is with Frontier's
OLE hooks. i understand it can address pretty much the same
objects that VBA can.
i would also expect there are implementations of OLE
capabilities for other scripting languages like Python,
Perl, etc.
i think it's also important to distinguish AppleScript from
AppleEvents and the Object Model. VBA is to AppleScript as
AppleEvents are to OLE. the language is not as special as
the underlying structure.
