For classic Mac OS I use iDo Script Scheduler:

The light (free) version allows you to schedule up to 3 events.

This is by no means the only option available but I've used it since it's launch with no problems.

Natively, AppleScript is great for performing an event every xxx seconds (see idle handler) but is not so good at performing an event at a specified date/time.
