Parsing XML in OS 10.1

  • Subject: Parsing XML in OS 10.1

Having installed 10.1, I thought I'd have a look at the XML-RPC and SOAP capabilities which are built in to the OS.

And no, this is not for want of anything better to do on a Sunday!

I have a script which reads an XML file and sticks the parsed data into a database. This needs revisting as it's dog slow. So, can I rewrite things in OS X and make use of the OS's built in XML parsing capability? Having read the documentation for XML-RPC and Soap, there doesn't seem to be a way to pass data to the built-in XML parser. Is this correct? If not, where should I be looking for an AS dictionary for this?

TIA for any pointers

Simon Forster
