get image size (W x H)

Hello all,

I'm curious, is there anyway using AS to retrieve image size (W x H) from an
image without opening an image editing application.

or

Anyone know of software enabling batch importing of images (to correct
size), create label for each image, for QXP, MSW, or other. We would like
to create uniform documents containing images and their labels for proofing.

Thanks for any help,
