On 4/4/02, garrett commented:

I'm confused - can all OSAX be used with OS X just by dropping them into the
Scripting Additions folder? Because I'm trying to get Tanaka's to work - but
none of the commands are recognized.

Nope, only osax which have been developed for OS X will work in OS X. Here are a few:

There may be good news on the horizon though. Here's a description for one of the sessions at the upcoming WWDC.

"AppleScript Update - After ten years, it's time to make waves with AppleScript. What you've been waiting for is about to happen: a new plug-in architecture to replace OSAXen, support for scriptable application plug-ins, an all-Unicode parser, an XML-based replacement for terminology resources, and finally, a useful replacement for the ObjectSupportLib. Whether you're writing scriptable applications or are just a novice scripter, don't miss this session." [Wed., May 8, 9-10am]

WooHoo!

I've noted other sessions which refer to AppleScript on my blog.
