I did this for a company I worked at previously. The document had to end up
as a Word document in order to work with the Microsoft Exchange based fax
system. Started with QXP go to an EPS, convert to outline open in Photoshop
with PhotoScripter set size and resolution as TIFF (Word would accept an EPS
from Illustrator and it looked pretty nice, but it wouldn't fax) save then
place in a Word document.
It was purrrrty...I suggested the PDF option, but the CIO wanted a Microsoft
solution (?).
You make compromises - file size vs. legibility; anti-aliasing graphics vs.
crisp text; "general "tweaking" that had to be done (so we broke the script
down into parts). You end up with something that is "ok" to read and pretty
big in size - definitely not emailable.
I'll send you the scripts if you want them, but they aren't my proudest work
(I had to pay the bills...)
Go the PDF route, please.

That is a good question. It is for a client of a client so I will push the
question down the line.

The PDF/Acrobat approach sound promising. I have scripted Acrobat in the
past. I will check out whether the dictionary extends to exporting.
Thanks for the ideas. Sound like it might not me as complicated as I had
thought.
I will report back (might be weeks).
