setting list view column width?

  • Subject: setting list view column width?

I'd like to adjust the width of columns in the FInder's list view
using a script, but there doesn't seem to be a corresponding Window
or Finder Preference property (I'm using MacOS 8.6 and AppleScript
1.3.7). Does anyone know if/how this can be done?

Also, I haven't been able to get the syntax right for the "list view
icon size" property of the Finder Preferences, given in the Finder
dictionary as:

Class preferences: The Finder Preferences
Properties:
list view icon size integer -- the size of icons displayed
in Finder list view windows.

Can anyone provide a working example?

Thanks.
