I don't want to make the computer log out, just execute a script when the computer logs out. I'm a newbie, so please make it easy for me. Is there an event in Finder that get executed when logging out? How do I use events? Some pages to easy-get-started with AppleScript? Thanks a lot for your help.

It's been mentioned on the list that the Apple Event for logging shutting down isn't available, I can only guess that logging out also is not available. But let me ask this about your first sentence: "I don't want to make it log out, just execute a script when the computer logs out"...unless I'm misunderstanding the intent isn't it kinda like this?

Chose log out --> Script execution --> User logged off
vs.
Script execution --> Script logs user off --> User logged off

Both run the script and log the user off...is there something it has to do without
