Subject: Re: OS X AND TypeText (You CAN do it with Youpi Key 1.7)

This from Daniel A. Shockley - dated 22/4/02 10.05 pm:

Perhaps I'm missing something, but I don't see any way to run Youpi
shortcuts or sets from a script.

Are you using 1.7? Its dictionary contains the standard suite, text suite
and a selection of useful Youpi specific terminology, and it also runs
scripts.

OK! OK! :-) I foolishly clicked "Show in Finder" on the dock icon for the Youpi Key Editor, and then checked the dictionary for that and YK Backgrounder, neither of which were scriptable. Later, I realized that their parent folder was MacOS, meaning that they were inside a package. In other words, I didn't check the dictionary of the actual application. It is a little weird, though to open the Editor as a component of a bundle-app.

That said, I can't wait to start using Youpi Keys to do even more! It can click and type text. What I would really love is to be able to dynamically send new commands to YK, rather than having to call pre-defined shortcuts, but it's still a wonderful utility.
