possibly it would help to convert the dfont to a
resource-fork TT font (3 shell commands, watch for line
wrap):
touch ~/Documents/LucidaGrandeTT
cp /System/Library/Fonts/LucidaGrande.dfont ~/Documents/LucidaGrandeTT/rsrc
/Developer/Tools/SetFile -c DMOV -t FFIL ~/Documents/LucidaGrandeTT
install LucidaGrandeTT in Classic and using SimpleText might
be a little simpler.
