Speaking of the 10.1.4, (and slightly OT), what does one do if when you
click "Install" all that happens is that the Software Update window
loses
it's focus and it doesn't actually start downloading files?
I noticed some anomalies with Software Update yesterday (the same day
your post is dated). I finally got 'round to updating my iBook to 10.1.4
and had a dickens of a time getting it to do it (it ended up
prebinding " " for about ten minutes, whatever " " is, after
disconnecting me several times and leaving me in limbo much like you
describe) so maybe it had something to do with Apple's servers recently.
Not having anything left to install I can't really tell. But yesterday
was the first time I'd had any problem (and also macfixit has been
reporting Software Update problems).
MacFixIt had a link to a standalone installer for 10.1.4 (I didn't realize
Apple still supplied those). We'll find out how this works soon (too bad
I have to leave for school...I hope VNC will still work).
