I am attempting to find a record in an AppleWorks database with a script. It
is supposed to work as follows:
1. A miracle happens and the script starts with a telephone number assigned
to a variable the script continues, AppleWorks starts and the proper file is
opened with the proper window is on top. (This works)
2. I try to implement a search of the database for the telephone number.
(This fails) The command I am trying to use for the search is the Show
command.
Either the command doesn't work or I am experiencing a case of operator
failure.
As an aside the AppleWorks documentation for Applescript consists of a
database in which the commands are "explained". This database it fails to
display information unless the default view is changed. This does not raise
my confidence level in the effort Apple has put into Scripting AppleWorks.
It seems to be a poor stepchild.
Is there anyone who is using Applescript successfully with AppleWorks?
Doug
