What was the genesis of the original problem anyway? Just a game to
play with code, or is there actually a real world problem that this
helps solve? I can imagine the getDigits portion of this routine being
useful, although far more so if it were modified to handle the mod 1
portion as well.

Hi,

there are two aspects why I want to create such a routine using AppleScript:

1) There is a kind of "Love Test" I found surfing the Internet, which I find somehow funny. I do not believe in this kind of numerology (I was asked this severel times today), but I was interested if this kind of "Love Test" could also be coded with AppleScript. Visit http://www.begbie.com/love.html for more info.

2) This kind of "calculating" is often used in primary school as a game. I was asked by a friend to develop a small script which automates creating random numbers and the related (in-between-)results.

With very kind regards,

Martin Michel
