I've had Python on my Mac OS X installation since (Sunday) April 22, 2001.

% python
Python 2.1 (#1, 04/22/01, 11:06:25)
[GCC Apple DevKit-based CPP 6.0alpha] on darwin1
Type "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.

But it's not fair to post code for something which only a few people have.
Particularly in an AppleScript Users list (whew!).

(And I really need to put a modern Python onto the machine...which I'll do
from source, as I did the above.)
