Delete/Erase of files (no Trash)

  • Subject: Delete/Erase of files (no Trash)

I have digital image I copy from Memory Stick to computer. After I've grabbed the images I want to delete them from the Memory Stick. Using the 'delete' command moves them to the Trash, where they still take up space. I want to completely get rid of them. I know I can empty the trash, but that empties the trash of my hard drive as well.

Is there a way I can delete the files without moving them to the trash. Or is there a way I can empty just the trash of the memory stick? Right now I use the command line to 'rm' the files (% rm /Volumes/32mbStick/.Trashes/501/*).

Mac OS X 10.1.5, AppleScript 1.8.3

p.s. I know about Apple's Image Capture utility and I don't want to use it.
