if you are referring to the folder alias as something like 'folder
theAlias' try changing it to just 'theAlias' or 'item theAlias' and see
what happens.

Is it possible to move a file into an invisible folder using plain

AppleScript (OS 9.x)?
I can get an alias to the "Cleanup At Startup" folder, but so far I
haven't
been able to get the syntax correct to move a file into it... When I do
the move outside a tell block I get an error that the file doesn't
understand the move command, and if I tell Finder to move the file,
Finder
tells me the invisible folder doesn't exist.
