I'm lost. What do you want to accomplish with setting a file or folder invisible? Invisible to whom if not the Finder?

I commonly set my finance folder to invisible when I leave town for a week or so. The folks who watch the house are free to use the machine and the internet but I would prefer that they not be privy to my personal things. I can be fairly sure they don't use MPW.

I'm fond of creating disk images from a folder full of files and applying a password to them.
