"Tell Application" in OS X

  • Subject: "Tell Application" in OS X

I'm migrating some scripts from OS 9 to X and I'm running into a peculiar
problem.

When I execute the statement:

Tell Application "QuickTime Player"

It launches the classic version of the player.

I'd like to make sure my script always launches the X version of QuickTime
Player. I've tried to include the path to the application:

Tell Application "HD 2:Applications:QuickTime Player"

It produces an error that says it can't find the application.

Is the QuickTime Player secretly hidden in another place on the hard drive?

Any help would be appreciated.
