That's how most people start AppleScripting. In fact, it was my only IDE
until I had a project that was just too big for SE. The only problems were
finding an IDE that I liked. I ended up with SD, because Scripter was
missing too many features, and I just never could handle Smile. (Personal
issue, not a problem with Smile...I just can't make my head work the way
Smile does.)
SE is not marketed as anything other than the entry level way to start with
scripting, and as such, is a really good entry level scripting environment.
