Every time I reply to a message from the AppleScript-Users list or

This is a FAQ that's addressed at
http://lists.apple.com/cgi-bin/mwf/topic_show.pl?id=208 and there are
several (hotly debated, admittedly) reasons that Apple's list managers
choose to configure Apple's list software to behave this way.
For me, the main reason is that if any list subscriber sets up a mail rule
or autoresponder to reply to incoming messages from the list, the list would
be overrun with autoresponded messages and mail loops. (A few people manage
to configure their mailers to do this anyway; you see it once or twice a
year. If reply-to was set it would happen several times daily with a
subscriber list of this magnitude).
Please, no follow-ups to this list; this is a global issue with all lists on
lists.apple.com and is not AppleScript-specific.
Chris
