Is there anyone here using the JavaScript OSA context?
I'd like to make contact with others who are. If you are using it, I'll
email offlist so we can exchange addresses.
I'm having difficulty getting some (not all) compiled scripts to run
properly in some applications from the OSA Menu.
Sometime ago (years) I was using some of these in Entourage (maybe it was
Outlook), which does not interact well with OSA Menu, OMM. [It seems to
have something to do with the naming of the folder in Scripts vs. the name
of the application vs. the name of the application window. I can recreate
the problem, and have never been able to run E scripts from OSA Menu. Not
javascript OSA scripts...any applescript for Entourage.]
But, recently I've been using ScriptEase, which makes the Mac file space and
user action available to JavaScript. Very cool and can simulate clicks,
dragging, window opening/closing, etc. in addition to other things. It's
particularly useful for interacting with IE, of course.
I thought, perhaps wrongly, that any script written in an OSA language would
run from script menus. (Not mixing contexts in a script, mind you, just
having some scripts written in pure AS, some in JSOSA, etc.) Guess not?
