Trouble mounting an iDisk (reprise)

I received several suggestion on using mount volume" to mount an iDisk, and I've experimented with them. They are all of variations of:

mount volume theVolume as user name idiskName with password passwd

But the problem remains that I often get the spinning cursor and the "Contacting iDisk" dialog with the 120 second countdown timer. Just before and just after doing this, if I use the Finder to Go, iDisk, the iDisk mounts almost immediately (and then I eject before doing the next text).

So, the Finder can (usually) mount it instantly, but I often cannot in AppleScript.

Does the Finder use some secret sauce?

Jeff
