So:

keystroke "c" with command down -- copy

keystroke "v" with command down -- paste

in the front application.

Would you advise as to which dictionary this is documented in? I've had
a look around both Standard Additions and System Events but can't see
it (which doesn't mean it isn't there!). Also, do you have a simple
example of applying this?

This was part of the thread discussing the new UI Element Scripting in the
Pre-Release (i.e. beta) version of System Events that ships with Developer
Tools Dec2002, which you can get at Developer website at Apple.

Paul

Thank you - but I know it's meant to be part of the Developer Tools download (which I downloaded and installed a few days ago). Thing is, I still cannot find any reference to "keystroke".

As a side issue, I installed the Developer tools but didn't seem to get a copy of the new Script Editor - I had to download this separately. Does one need to install this as a custom install?

TIA (and Merry Christmas to any other sad people working on computers today!).
