But since there is no GUI scripting in older Mac OS versions, what has this
got to do with each other? As you say, you can have your script check for the
OS version; have it make use of its available possibilities, have it fall
back to some other techniques when they're not.
Nothing new. This has been the case ever since the first AS update. And it
doesn't just apply to AS versions and OS versions, but to the versions of the
applications that you script as well.
In any case, I didn't mean to argue - I was just curious what portability
issues Christian meant.
