EPS information

Hello to all,

I am trying to get information on EPS pictures, without opening the file(s)
in Photoshop (bitmap EPS) or Illustrator (vector EPS). Is it possible to get
such information with an addition of some sort? Does anyone knows, or would
have any hints for me? The information I am after is whether the file is in
CMYK or RGB. And for vector files, what fonts are used in that file. Is it
possible to get such information without physically opening a file?

I am trying to get this information from plain AS, which does not offer much
choices on image handling. Quark is better, but I cannot get what I am
looking for from there either. AquaSweets are better, but still, no easy
answer there either... Hmmm...

Any hints/pointers/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.: HAPPY NEW YEAR to all scripters on this list!
