Ah I see. Interesting. I've always just used one giant if statement but
perhaps the passing variables method is better in theory.

One thing though:
I tried the example above, and it didn't work so hot. The script activated
the application "greet", greet ran and then quit, and then my script just
sat there with the cursor spinning until a timeout error. Like it was still
waiting for "greet"'s returned value or something. I think I did everything
correctly. The only thing that comes to mind is that I'm on a slow computer
with Mac OS 8.6. Is passing variables a slow task normally? TIA
