Hi..
thanks to all who commented on this. The (most elegant) answer does seem to
be (x div 1). I haven't responded sooner because, well, stuff.
I don't know what addition Michelle has, but on X 10.1.2, I can't get
integer (3.5) to work. I had thought that would be the answer. Nor int
(3.5), even though Smile 2.3 finds it in Applescript's dictionary - unless
it's looking in the Classic dictionary. (You'd have to search for "do POSIX
script" I guess.)
Now my problem is, having got the integer, how to set the value of the
slider in the Applescript Studio app to that. For anyone who hasn't tried
Applescript Studio, it really is fantastic: like a whole new dimension on
Applescript.
