Subject: Making EPS files of PDFs Round Two

Hi all:
On suggestions from this list, I upgraded to Acrobat 5 to get the conversion
functionality in its dictionary, ...
Just thought you should know, if you are using OS X, there's an
freeware alternative to Acrobat for manipulating ps and pdf files
(including converting pdf to ps): PSUtils (short for PostScript
Utilities). PSUtils is a powerful set of command line utilities for
manipulating postscript files, including the pdf2ps command which, as
its name suggests, converts pdf to ps. Like other command line
utilities, you can use it directly from the command line in
Terminal.app or you can use it by scripting the Terminal or using the
applescript "do shell" command.
The easiest way I know to get PSUtils is through an application
called Fink (available at fink.sourceforge.net). Fink is very simple
to install and makes hundreds of ported unix applications available
for download. Downloading and installing (and later uninstalling)
unix software, such as PSUtils, becomes very easy with fink.
